How Do we Organize a Business Convention?

Few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to organize the annual Convention of a German company in Barcelona. The group was formed by 30 CEOs, from different countries, who choose this city every year as their favorite to hold the meeting. They trusted Gemma Gonzalez Events because they were looking for the organization of a boutique event, personalized in every detail, without the usual standard alternatives.

Following the guidelines that the client gave us, we looked for a very central, quiet and family-friendly hotel. The meetings took place in rooms that have natural light. The coffee breaks, totally healthy, were always organized in outdoor spaces, the hotel has a shaded and very quiet inner courtyard, as well as different terraces that offer spectacular views of the city and a nice background music.

The first night they had the opportunity to dine in a secret place, hidden in the Raval neighborhood. The chef had designed an original gastronomic proposal, inspired by the art of five Catalan artists.

Team building

The second day, after a morning of intense work, we had organized a “soaking” and fun team building, in a nautical base of the Maresme. Under the coordination of the Olympic sailing medalist Sandra Azón, the participants (divided into three teams) alternated: Paddle surf, sailing and kayaking.

To end the day, they enjoyed dinner at Port Balís, with a spectacular fish menu. We set up a large O-shaped table, on a terrace that we closed exclusively. With this distribution, all attendees saw their faces and had a relaxed dialogue between everyone.

After the last day’s meetings, they said goodbye to Barcelona tasting a menu of author tapas, in an interior terrace typical of the architecture of Barcelona’s Eixample.

Our goals

For our part, we fulfill the objective set by the client: Generate a climate that fosters the internal communication of the members of the company, look for fun and original activities which pose a challenge for the members, achieve closer ties and establish synergies outside of their usual space.

Goodbye lunch

We enjoyed the pleasant sun of our city the three days and got everyone to return to their country even more in love with Barcelona.

They promised to see us again next September. Here we wait for you!
